Welcome to the ProTools Editing and Mixing Course! This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the skills necessary to become proficient in audio editing and mixing using ProTools software.
Over the three-week course, students will explore the following topics:
1. Introduction to ProTools and Basic Concepts: Students will learn the fundamentals of the ProTools interface, editing techniques, and the application of basic effects.
2. Recording and Microphone Techniques: Techniques for miking voices and instruments will be examined, along with best practices for voice-over recording.
3. On-Location Recording and Backup: Students will acquire skills in preparing equipment for on-location recording and learn the importance of backups.
4. Post-Production and Audio Restoration: Advanced post-production techniques will be covered, including sound cleaning and audio quality enhancement.
5. Advanced Mixing and Voiceover: Students will delve into advanced mixing techniques, including the specifics of 5.1 mixing, and explore the world of voiceover and dubbing.
6. Sound Design for a Video Project: Finally, students will apply all acquired skills by working on a final project involving the sound design of a short video.
The course includes a combination of theoretical lessons, practical exercises, and class discussions to ensure a thorough understanding and mastery of the skills covered.
The course will be held for 3 full days of immersion and workshops from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch break. The scheduled dates are June 29, July 6, and July 13.
