This course provides an introduction to the art of composing music for film. Students will delve into the practical aspects of film music composition, from understanding the role of music in cinema to hands-on experience with music production software.
They will analyse famous film soundtracks, learn composition techniques specific to film scoring, and engage in practical exercises to compose music for short scenes. This course culminates in a final project where students create their own soundtrack for a scene or short film, showcasing their newly acquired skills.Through a blend of theory and practice, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the creative process behind film music composition.

Brian Matichechia was born in Rome in 1982. At the age of 6, he started to play the piano, studying with some of the most important music tutors in the world of Classical, jazz, Electronic and film Soundtracks.
Brian studied under such virtuosos and musical teachers as Alan Gibson, M. Cafaro, Lilla Martinelli, Massimiliano Gagliardi, Daniela Petracchi, Dante Milozzi, Carla Parila, Elio Polizzi, all of whom tutored him in every aspect of music composition. He then specialized in Epic Music at The London Academy of Tv and Drama, Ciac School of Music, and the University of Saint Louis. With over twenty years of experience, he has built a solid career in the music and film industries, distinguishing himself through his expertise and professionalism.
The course will be held for 3 full days of immersion and workshops from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch break. The scheduled dates are June 29, July 6, and July 13.
A minimum of 2 students are required to enrol before the course start date for the course to begin.
Where the number of enrolled students is less than the required minimum, the course start date may be postponed or refund will be issued to the already enrolled student.
