Hailing from Poland originally, Lucas has been living in the UK for almost 30 years. He has directed numerous films around the world, from Lebanon and China to the Arctic Circle. These include Ketermaya, which won best documentary film awards at international festivals in Italy, USA and Greece.
He holds a Masters, with Distinction, in Film-Making from Sheffield Hallam University, where he lectures in Film and TV. Lucas is passionate about raising awareness for human stories concerning justice: including refugee rights, disability rights and other minority rights. Lucas sits as a panellist at various events and contributes as the jury at the International Children’s Rights Film Festival.
